I5 SECONDS OF FAME!: Wanting to be famous was never easier than when the Idaho Lottery and North By Northwest Productions held open auditions for an upcoming series of Idaho Lottery American Idol scratch ticket commercials. We asked interested people to audition by videotaping themselves singing any song, especially original creations. What we got would have been entertaining even by Simons standards recordings in bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, showers, and garages. No edited music videos, no fancy lighting, no special effects just a locked down camera and an unedited, all in one take of the performance.

Singing ability was not an issue in some ways preferable since this is American Idol after all. The most important ingredient to the successful winners was commitment to the song and giving that 110% really selling the performance. The final selections were made based on which were the most interesting to watch and not necessarily the best vocalists.

In all, there were 9 lucky winners who won $500 each. Unfortunately, though, none of them have been invited to Hollywood at least not yet anyway. Check out each performance here:
