$100,000 LETS POWERBALL WINNER CHILL OUT THIS SUMMER!

BOISE – The feverish summer heat was no sweat for Howard Thom. Nothing could keep him from joy when he rolled into the Lottery office with a winning $100,000 Powerball ticket from the drawing on Saturday August 7, 2004! Thom matched all 5 white balls but not the red Powerball. 

Thom, an ex-Boisean who now lives in Utah, says he plays Powerball whenever he gets a chance. Thom didn’t have a car that would make the trip to Boise to claim the winnings, so he bought one. “I’ve been living one breakdown to the next,” he said of his old vehicle. “This is my first new car ever!” He was all smiles when he showed off his new wagon to the office staff.  

The winning ticket was purchased at Kwik Stop in Malad. 

The Powerball jackpot is currently at $97 million. The next draw is Saturday August 14, 2004, at 8:59 p.m. MST.  

Powerball is the multi-state lotto game that offers players nine ways to win. Players select five numbers from 1 to 53 and a Powerball from 1 to 42. The jackpot is won by matching 5 numbers plus the Powerball. Odds of winning a cash prize are 1 in 36. Jackpot odds are 1 in 120 million.
