Idaho Lottery Hosts Celebrity Homerun Derby Fundraiser at Hawks Stadium

(Boise, ID) – Extra! Extra! Extra cash for K-12 public schools, that is. The Idaho Lottery and the Boise Hawks challenged local celebrities from the Treasure Valley to step up to the plate and take a swing at scoring some money for area schools.

The Celebrity Homerun Derby, held after the game against Spokane on Friday, August 12, gave the six celebrity batters the chance to raise money for K-12 public school in the area.

Celebrities included familiar names and faces from TV and radio in the area. Each batter had 5 swings, and each hit garnered a different cash amount from the Idaho Lottery. Infield hits were $25; outfield hits were $50; hitting the fence was $75; and out of the park was $100. All batters won $150 for the school of their choice.

Scott Dorval, meteorologist on KIVI—$150 for Hunter Elementary in Meridian
Vince Trimboli, Sportscaster on KBCI—$150 for Koelsch Elementary in Boise
Vin Crosby, meteorologist on KTRV—$150 for Skyview High in Nampa
J. Bates, on-air personality on KBOI—$150 for Glenns Ferry Elementary
KJ Mac, DJ on KHITS—$150 for Horizon Elementary in Boise
Scott Conklin, Sportscaster on KTVB—$150 for Taft Elementary in Boise
