Powerball Player 1 Number Short of Jackpot but Happily Accepts $100,000!

BOISE – “The Powerball was 32 and I had 31!” Hoa Pham lamented when she came into the lottery office to claim her $100,000 winning Powerball ticket. If she had correctly matched the Powerball, she would have won $25 million – but she was more than happy to go home with the prize for matching the five white balls.

An avid lottery player, Hoa asked her son-in-law to check her ticket on the Internet. “I had to take my glasses off and slap my face,” he said of checking all the matching numbers.  

With the prize, Hoa plans to buy a house so she’ll no longer live with her daughter and son-in-law. 

The winning ticket was purchased at a Twin Stop in Twin Falls.
