Powerball Jackpot swells to $300 million!
(Boise, ID) – Due to increased sales, directors at the Multi State Lottery Association have reevaluated the original estimate and increased Saturday’s Powerball jackpot to $300 million.
This current Powerball run began on August, 13, 2005, and the upcoming draw will be the 19th in the run. The cash option for the drawing will be an estimated $146 million. If the jackpot is hit on Saturday evening, it would rank as the second largest in Powerball history and the 4th largest in the world.
The last winner of a Powerball jackpot over $100 million was May 28, 2005, when Idahoan Brad Duke won $220.3 million.
Players should carefully check their tickets after every draw. Even if there are no jackpot winners, there are always tens of thousands of winners at other prize levels. Odds of winning the jackpot are 1:146 million, overall odds of winning a prize are 1:36.6.
