$1 Million Winning Powerball Ticket sold in
The winning numbers from last night’s $142 million jackpot draw were 14, 18, 34, 42, and 43. The Powerball number was 32 and the PowerPlay option was 5.
The PowerPlay is a multiplier for all non-winning jackpot amounts. For an extra dollar on their Powerball ticket, players can select the PowerPlay option. During the draw, one number from 2 to 5 is selected before the Powerball numbers are drawn. This multiplies all non-jackpot winning amounts by that number. In this case, a “match 5” winner, someone who matched every number but the Powerball multiplied a $200,000 winning ticket and turned it into a $1 million winner.
“We are encouraging every player to check their tickets from last night’s draw,” stated Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “When players realize the big jackpot has not been won or they did not match the Powerball number itself, people often do not check their tickets for other winners. In this case, the winner matched every number but the Powerball and then multiplied their winnings by five.”
