How PowerPlay Multiplier Works:
When you purchase your ticket, ask for the PowerPlay multiplier. It costs $1 per set of Powerball numbers you play. During the Powerball drawing, a PowerPlay multiplier is selected from a wheel of 16 numbers. There are four 2’s, four 3’s, four 4’s, and four 5’s. You do not have to match the PowerPlay number, only select the option for an extra dollar at the time of purchase. Whatever number is drawn will multiply you non-winning jackpot amounts (from $3 to $200,000) up to as much as $1 million.

Your Powerball ticket with the PowerPlay Multiplier will look like the ticket below.
* Match 5 Bonus: Whenever the Powerball jackpot reaches a record level, the amount of the jackpot prize will be limited to increases for each draw of no more than $25 million. The prize money collected in excess of the advertised jackpot amount, will be placed in a pool and will accumulate until there is a jackpot winner. When there is a jackpot winner, the bonus prize option pool will be divided equally among all winners of the $200,000 Match 5 prize.
