$1,000,000 Powerball Winner Sold in Boise; $40,000 in Twin Falls County

BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô Idaho's Powerball luck continued Saturday night when a $1,000,000 winning ticket and a $40,000 winning ticket were both sold in the Gem State. Sunday, the Idaho Lottery reported that the $1,000,000 winning (a ticket that matches the first five numbers only) was sold in Twin Falls County and the $40,000 winning ticket (a ticket that matches four numbers and the Powerball) was sold in Boise. Due to an internal reporting error, the Idaho Lottery incorrectly reported this on Sunday.

In fact, the $1,000,000 winning ticket was sold in Boise and the $40,000 winner was sold in Twin Falls.

The $1,000,000 winning ticket matched the first five numbers from Saturday night's $301.3 million Powerball draw. The winning numbers were 01, 17, 25, 37, 44 and the Powerball was 20.

"We are encouraging everyone who played Powerball for last night┬┤s draw to check their tickets carefully. Too often we see players not match the Powerball and think they do not have a winning ticket. In this case, the ticket matched all five of the first numbers and is worth $1 million," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "We apologize for any confusion that may have occurred from the incorrect information given out on Sunday."

Last Saturday night's million-dollar winner was the fourth in Idaho in the past ten weeks.

Including the million dollar winning ticket, there were over 9,200 winning Powerball tickets in Idaho from the draw. With no jackpot winner, the estimated jackpot for Wednesday night is now $400 million.

With a second $400 million Powerball jackpot in five weeks and a $130 million Mega Millions jackpot on Tuesday, the Idaho Lottery is reminding everyone to please play responsibly. The Idaho Lottery also encourages everyone to sign the back of their tickets prior to presenting them for payment.

Last night┬┤s million dollar winner has 180 days to claim their prize at Idaho Lottery headquarters.
