Fremont County Family Claims $2,000,000 Winning Powerball Ticket

BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô The largest winning Powerball ticket ever sold in Fremont County, Idaho, also became the fiftieth million dollar or higher winning ticket in Idaho Lottery history when the Grende Family of Teton claimed their $2,000,000 winning ticket, sold for last Saturday night's Powerball draw.

Don and Pam Grende buy Powerball tickets with the PowerPlay for each draw once a month from the only Idaho Lottery retail location in their home town of Teton, the Go-C-Goe. On Tuesday morning, Pam was reading the local paper and saw there was a $2,000,000 Powerball winning ticket sold in Fremont County.

Pam checked her tickets and then called to her husband Don to share the news with him.

"I just about fell over," said Don.

"This just isn't real," exclaimed Pam.

Together with their sons, Dave and Dallas Grende, Pam and Don claimed their $2,000,000 winning Powerball ticket from the Idaho Lottery on Friday, January 2, 2015. The ticket was split equally between the four winners.

The family has lived in and around Teton for nearly four decades. Pam and Don are retired, with Dallas and Dave considering joining them after the win.

"This is a good start," said Dave when he received his check.

For their part in selling the winning ticket, the Go-C-Goe in Teton receives a bonus from the Idaho Lottery of $25,000.

The current Powerball jackpot for Saturday night's draw is an estimated $131,000,000.
