Lewiston Area Educator Named to Lottery Commission

BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô Governor C. L. "Butch" Otter appointed Susan Kerrick, an educator from Lewiston, to fill a seat on the Idaho Lottery Commission on January 3, 2014. Once she is confirmed by the Idaho Senate, her term runs until January 1, 2019. Kerrick is the first educator to serve on the Idaho Lottery Commission.

A long-time resident of the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley, Kerrick is a science and math teacher at Kendrick Jr./Sr. High in Kendrick, Idaho, about 30 minutes northeast of Lewiston. Kerrick is a graduate of Boise State University and has served as an Idaho Drug Free Youth Advisor and the Kendrick High School Student Council Advisor. She has also been a Board Member of the Lewis-Clark Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Kerrick fills an opening on the Idaho Lottery Commission formerly held by Jim Rehder of Cottonwood. Rehder served the last two years of Nez Perce resident Scott McLeod's term.

"We value the input and experience that Commissioner Rehder brought to the Idaho Lottery for his years of service," said Idaho Lottery Commission Chairman Mel Fisher. "The Idaho Lottery's primary beneficiaries are public education and the State's permanent buildings. As an educator, Susan Kerrick will bring a fresh new dynamic and unique perspective to the Commission."

"We are pleased to welcome Susan Kerrick to the Idaho Lottery Commission," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "Her working knowledge of the public school system and community involvement experience will bring valuable contributions to the Idaho Lottery for many years."

"I am excited about my opportunity to serve the citizens of the State of Idaho and be a part of the Idaho Lottery and their mission," said Kerrick. "They are good people, they do good work, and they provide great results for Idaho education."
