Malad Resident Wins $300,000 on Legendary Wealth Lottery Scratch Game

BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Lottery is accustomed to having large winners who purchased their winning tickets from a retail location in Malad. It is a rarer day, though, when the large winner is an actual resident of the town of Malad itself. Irma Evans, from Malad, is the newest winner of $300,000 from the Idaho Lottery.

Evans claimed the last top prize on the Idaho Lottery’s Scratch Game, Legendary Wealth, on Tuesday afternoon, February 4, 2020 at the Lottery’s office in Boise. She had purchased the ticket the day before from K-C Oil in Malad and played it later that evening.

“I played the ticket without my glasses on,” explained Evans on her winning experience. “I couldn’t see if all that well and I thought maybe I’d won $3,000. I couldn’t really see it, but I knew I’d won something big, so I ran it down to the store for them to check it.”

The next afternoon, Evans was in Boise to collect her winnings. “This makes life easier,” she said with a relieved smile. “I’m going to pay off some bills then add this to my retirement. Maybe now I’ll be able to enjoy my retirement a little better.”

For their part in selling the winning ticket, K-C Oil received a bonus from the Idaho Lottery of $20,000.
