This is Really Happening! Payette Woman Wins $60,000 on Lottery’s Big Spin

BOISE, Idaho –
Two weeks ago, Melissa Gorham got the surprise of a lifetime when she bought four Idaho Lottery Big Spin tickets. One of the four tickets earned her the chance to visit Boise Towne Square and spin the Big Spin Wheel to claim the game’s fourth top prize.

“Two of the tickets didn’t win. I had one $5 winner, and the another that showed the spin wheel symbol,” described Gorham, a non-emergency medical transport driver from Payette.

When her digital spin occurred, the clerk informed Gorham she needed to take her ticket to Boise to claim it. Gorham called and talked with Idaho Lottery Security who informed her she had won a Big Spin Event.

“I was shaking. This isn’t happening to me,” she recalled, upon receiving the news. Once her event was scheduled by the Idaho Lottery for Wednesday afternoon, September 14, the reality started to sink in. “This is really happening to me!”

The night before her spin, Melissa said she was so excited, so many butterflies, that she could barely sleep. With her family nearby and a crowd of onlookers at Boise Towne Square, Melissa spun, and the wheel stopped on the $60,000 prize.

“I’m going to be smart about my winnings,” she said. “This helps so much. It’s such a huge blessing.”

There are two Big Spin Event winners left in the game that has been the most popular $5 Scratch game in Idaho Lottery history.
