Unclaimed $1,000,000 Powerball Ticket Sold at Maverik in Meridian

BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô After 180 days, one ticket worth $1,000,000 sold for the June 20, 2012 Powerball draw in Meridian has expired. Despite increased interest in the winning ticket from players last week, no one claimed the prize before last Friday's deadline.

The winning ticket in question was sold at the Maverik, Inc. store located on the corner of Locust Grove and McMillan the night before the draw on June 19, 2012. It was a single line, $2 quick pick. By law, once the ticket expires the Idaho Lottery cannot pay the claim. Maverik, Inc. will receive a bonus from the Idaho Lottery of $20,000 for selling the ticket.

ÔÇï"With the gift giving season quickly upon us, we cannot emphasize enough for players to check their tickets carefully after each and every draw for winners," said Idaho Lottery Director, Jeff Anderson. "With a holiday-themed line up of scratch tickets and the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle close to selling out, we want to remind players this season to sign their tickets and check them carefully for winners."

ÔÇïThe prize amount from the unclaimed $1,000,000 prize reverts back to the Idaho Lottery's unclaimed prize fund which ultimately benefits Idaho's bottom line ÔÇô public schools and the permanent buildings of the State of Idaho.

Players can check their draw tickets on the Idaho Lottery website at www.idaholottery.com or by calling the winning numbers hotline at 208-334-4656. Players can check both scratch tickets and draw tickets in retail locations by using the blue self-check boxes, the big red vending machines, or by having the store clerk verify them.ÔÇï
