Boise - The $131 million Powerball jackpot was hit last night by a group of 14 security employees from a nuclear weapons research lab in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Everyone in the group pitched in $10 into a pool to purchase $140 worth of Powerball tickets late Wednesday night.

The employees, 14 security officers are calling themselves, "New Mexico's First." The winning numbers were selected by a “quick pick” which is a random selection of numbers.

Faithful Idaho Lottery player Dawn Fannin, 61, Boise spent Thursday afternoon picking up his check for $100,000 from the Idaho Lottery headquarters. Fannin won the money playing the Idaho Powerball.

Fannin, a native Idahoan said he had no immediate plans to spend the money, but was sure amazed he'd won. With a big grin, he said, “I bought the Powerball ticket yesterday, and when I saw the winning numbers on TV, I only caught only two numbers and didn't think I would win anything.” Fannin purchased his ticket at the Jacksons Food Store on State and 32nd.

The Idaho Lottery is recommending to Northern Idahoans to check their Powerball tickets. There is still one more winner that has not come forward to claim their ticket. The winner bought the ticket from the 7-Eleven in Post Falls, Idaho.

Powerball is the multi-state lotto game that offers players nine ways to win. Players select five numbers from 1 to 49 and a Powerball from 1 to 42. The jackpot is won by matching all five numbers plus the Powerball. Odds of winning a cash prize are 1 in 34.8. Jackpot odds are 1 in 80 million.

In FY2000, the Idaho Lottery contributed $18 million dollars to Idaho public schools and buildings.
