$2.78 Million Wild Card Winning Ticket Sold in Idaho

 

Boise – For one lucky Idahoan, the dream of winning the Lottery has just become a reality.  The Idaho Lottery has confirmed there was one winning ticket sold for the $2.78 million Wild Card 2 draw on Saturday night, June 30, 2007. 

 

Wild Card 2 is a lotto-style game played only in Idaho, Montana, North and South Dakota.  Players select five numbers from 1 to 31 and one of 16 face cards from a standard deck of cards. Players also have the option of selecting a quick pick. Jackpots begin at $100,000 and continue to climb until the jackpot is won.  To win the jackpot, players must match all five numbers and the wild card.  

 

The winning numbers for Saturday night’s record-setting draw were: 02, 15, 18, 19, 26 and the Wild Card was the Ace of Spades.  The last Jackpot was won on August 16, 2006 in Montana.  Last night’s draw was an all-time record jackpot for Wild Card. 

 

“We’ve continued to watch the jackpot steadily grow with anticipation over the past several months,” explained Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “We are thrilled the biggest winner in the history of this game is from Idaho.”

 

Since January, Idaho had been very close to hitting the jackpot on over three dozen occasions. Thirty-nine players have won $5,000, the highest prize other than jackpot, by matching all five of the numbers, but missing the Wild Card.

 

At present, the Idaho Lottery is not releasing any additional information on the winning ticket.

 

“To maintain the integrity of our game, we are currently in the process of verifying the location of where the ticket was sold,” said Anderson. “We strongly encourage every one to check their tickets carefully.”
