First Time Player wins $150,000 on Lottery Scratch Ticket

 

Boise – Therese Mahan of Boise won $150,000 from the Idaho Lottery when she bought and played her first and only $15 Double Action scratch ticket from the Jacksons on Chinden Blvd in Garden City.

 

Mahan plays Idaho Lottery scratch tickets three or four times a week, but had never purchased one for more than $5.  

 

“I was curious about the $15 ticket and asked the clerk if anyone ever won on those. When she told me someone had just won $150 the other day, I decided to give it a try,” said Mahan.

 

A first of its kind for Idaho Lottery scratch tickets, Double Action cards have ten different games, seven on the front and three on the back. When she got to game 8 on the back of the play card, she uncovered the unbelievable prize amount. 

 

“When I matched the number 10, I scratched the prize below it and saw the 1 and 5. I was sure I had only won $15,” explained Mahan. “I kept scratching and the prize amount was $150,000!  It still hasn’t really sunk in.”

 

After taxes, Mahan took home a check worth $100,800.  For their part in selling the winning ticket, Jacksons receives a $15,000 bonus from the Idaho Lottery.
