Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle 50% Sold-out

Boise – This afternoon the Idaho Lottery officially crossed the 50% mark of sales for their annual Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle game meaning there are now less than 125,000 tickets remaining for a chance at the game’s one million dollar top prize. Although there are only 26 days left for players to purchase their tickets, the Idaho Lottery anticipates selling out the game before the Christmas holiday.

“We’ve reached the half-way point for the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle, both in the number of days tickets have been on sale and for the remaining tickets left in the game,” said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “This popular game is selling as expected and we remain on target to sell-out ahead of the official end date of the game.”

The $10 tickets went on sale on November 7, 2008 and have sold over 125,000 tickets in just 26 days, averaging about 4,800 per day. With a complete sell-out of this year’s game, the Lottery anticipates the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle will create approximately $700,000 for Idaho public schools and buildings.

“As we get closer to the holidays, the pace of play on the game will likely increase,” added Anderson. “In addition to fewer available tickets and players wanting to have a chance to win a million dollars, many people will purchase raffle tickets to give as stocking stuffers.”

As an Idaho-only game, Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle tickets are only available for sale through all 880 Idaho Lottery retail locations. This game is not sold in any other state, however, players do not need to be Idaho residents to play or win. The odds of winning $1,000,000 remains the same at one in 250,000, the best ever offered by the Idaho Lottery for a seven-figure prize.

This year’s winning numbers announcement will take place at 9:59 PM Mountain Time on December 30, 2008. Lottery officials continue to remind players to play the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle responsibly. Anderson also encouraged players to sign the back of their ticket once it has been purchased and to keep it in a safe place until the Lottery announces the winning numbers on December 30, 2008.
