Idaho Lottery Announces Marketing Services Request for Proposal
Boise – The Idaho Lottery announced this morning it will be issuing a Marketing Services Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit bid proposals from responsible, responsive and experienced advertising and marketing firms. The Idaho Lottery is asking marketing and advertising firms to respond to three main service categories that include “Account Services”, “Creative Services”, and “Media Services”.
“As a responsible government agency, we continually examine the way we do business. We feel, given the current state of the State budget, it is especially incumbent upon us to examine all aspects of how we operate the Lottery,” announced Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director.
The initial term of the current advertising and marketing contract with Drake-Cooper of Boise will expire at the end of this current fiscal year on June 30, 2009. Drake-Cooper has been the advertising agency of record for the Idaho Lottery since operations began twenty years ago. “Going out to bid for these services is not a reflection on the performance of Drake-Cooper, but rather a responsible look at how we are doing business,” added Anderson.
“All government agencies in Idaho are in the process of rigorously examining their operations,” explained Anderson. “In the case of a contract of this size and importance, the initial term of which is expiring, we believe it is our responsibility to do our due diligence and examine the opportunities this may present.”
A copy of the Marketing Services RFP can be downloaded from the Idaho Lottery’s website at www.idaholottery.com under the “Lottery Info” drop down menu. Qualified advertising and marketing firms that wish to respond to the RFP, must submit a letter of “Intent to Bid” to the Idaho Lottery by no later than 5:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time on Friday, March 27, 2009.
