IDAHO LOTTERY PLAYERS SCORE $100,000 POWERBALL PRIZE! 

BOISE – Eight Idaho newspaper employees are pretty happy now that the group has $100,000 and a front page story. Eight of the twelve employees from the Wood River Journal in Hailey collected a Powerball pool after reading about the high jackpot and matched all five white balls but not the red Powerball. 

Two of the group came to Boise to pick up the winnings for everyone. One mentioned plans to put it in savings, the other said she’d spend it on her grandchild, and both agreed they’d throw a party and even include the 4 employees that didn’t participate in buying the ticket.  

The Powerball jackpot is currently at $155 million, and the next drawing is Saturday May 21, 2005.  

Powerball is the multi-state lotto game that offers players nine ways to win. Players select five numbers from 1 to 53 and a Powerball from 1 to 42. The jackpot is won by matching 5 numbers plus the Powerball. Odds of winning a cash prize are 1 in 36. Jackpot odds are 1 in 120 million. Powerball is now played in 27 states and Washington, D.C. Drawings are held each week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8:59pm MST.
