Idaho Lottery’s Jim Bruce Scratch for Schools is frantic fun in Caldwell!! 

Boise – 3…2…1…SCRATCH! Sticky latex coating flew in every direction as representatives from twenty-eight Idaho Schools whooped, roared and scratched Idaho Lottery tickets with the excitement of uncovering a lot of loot. 

The Idaho Lottery hosted the Jim Bruce Scratch for Schools event, a fundraiser for public schools on Saturday March 13, 2004, in the Albertson College gym in Caldwell. 

It was a sight to behold. During the five-minutes of mad scratching, each school was given 300 scratch tickets. All schools got to keep the money on their tickets, and prizes were awarded to the teams that scratched the most tickets and the most total dollar amount. 1,000 extra tickets to the winner and 500 to the runner up in each category. 

Emmett High School received the prize for highest total amount with $204 uncovered. Sweet-Montour School came in second with $197. In turn, Sweet-Montour School received the prize for scratching off the most tickets with 275 tickets scratched and Emmett High School came in second with 263. Both schools got to take home 1,500 additional scratch tickets on which they keep the money they uncover. More than $3,500 was uncovered at the event. Everyone walked away a winner, and all schools were thrilled to participate. 

The Lottery conducts Jim Bruce Scratch for Schools events all over the state. The next event will be April 24, 2004 in the Boise area.
