IDAHO POWERBALL PLAYER CLAIMS TWO $100,000 WINNING TICKETS IN ONE DAY!
BOISE – John Bradford is not just another happy customer; he’s got double the excitement for his win-win situation. John won $100,000 on TWO separate Idaho Powerball tickets from the drawing on April 24, 2004.
John, a Utah resident, knew right after the drawing that he held both winning tickets, but never had the chance to come to the Boise office to claim his $200,000 until now. “I knew I had six months to claim it,” he said. “There was no rush.”
John comes to Idaho whenever possible and always plays the same numbers on multi-draw tickets, which allow players to play the same numbers for up to 10 consecutive drawings. Perhaps the stars were aligned right because the two multi-draw tickets happened to overlap for this one particular drawing, and both had the same numbers as the 5 white balls picked for that drawing.
When John checked the numbers, he was elated but uncertain that it was really a winner, and he didn’t even tell his wife Carol until the next day when he was sure. The Bradfords say it was perfect timing. “It was a miracle,” said John. “It came at the culmination of a lot of other things." The winning tickets were both purchased at Kwik Stop in Malad.
Also at the same Kwik Stop in Malad, Charlene Schofield bought a $30,000 winning Slingo ticket. Char often plays Slingo, but never before hit it big. With her winnings she’s taking a trip to Missouri with her dad and plans to help out her three daughters. “Cause I’m a good mom,” she said.
The Powerball jackpot is currently $14 million. The next draw is Saturday, June 5, 2004, at 8:59pm MST.
Players must be at least 18 to buy, sell or redeem Powerball tickets. Remember to play responsibly. The Idaho Lottery benefiting Idaho public schools and buildings.
