BOISE –Brice Day had a few care packages waiting for him when he returned home to Idaho for a 15-day leave from duty as a Humvee driver in Iraq. One care package from a family friend stood out from the rest because it contained a handful of Idaho Lottery scratch tickets – and one winning Hoppy Go Lucky ticket with a top prize of $3,000.

“I was already so happy to be home,” Brice said. “When I scratched it and saw the three $3,000s, I couldn’t believe it. I’ve never won anything like this.” 

Brice will spend the next 7 months in Iraq with the Alpha Company 2nd Battalion out of Emmett. He hopes to be home in time for Christmas. 

The winning ticket was bought at Simerly’s in Wendell.
