Lottery’s Jim Bruce Scratch for Schools promises big fun in Caldwell!! 

Boise – Thirty-one Idaho schools could uncover hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars this Saturday, March 13, 2004. The Idaho Lottery is hosting a charity event called Jim Bruce Scratch for Schools to help schools in the Canyon County area raise additional funds. The event is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. at the Albertson College gymnasium in Caldwell.  

108 schools in the region were invited to participate. All thirty-one schools that responded to the invitation were chosen to play a part in this exciting event. 

The Lottery has already conducted several Scratch for Schools events across the state. In fact, last spring, Harrison Elementary in the Idaho Falls area uncovered $1,000 at the event in Twin Falls. 

Here’s what happens: Each team of two adults is given 300 Idaho Lottery scratch tickets, and they get to scratch like crazy for 5 minutes. Schools get to keep what the team uncovers on the tickets. There are additional prizes awarded to the teams that uncover the largest dollar amount and the teams that scratch off the most tickets. 

The Idaho Lottery is looking forward to this event as a way to increase their contributions to the Idaho public schools. Watch for Jim Bruce Scratch for Schools in other parts of the state in the coming months!
