Magic Valley Residents Claim $147,777 in Lottery wins

 

Twin Falls – Two Magic Valley residents have won the top prize on two separate Lottery Scratch Tickets in the past two weeks.  Casey Pehrson of Buhl won $70,000 on your Press Your Luck in late September.  Today, Kerry Flynn of Twin Falls won $77,777 on Super Lucky 7’s.

 

Pehrson, who works at a local tire company, bought his winning ticket at the Twin Stop on Addison. Although he did not have immediate plans for his winnings, Pehrson said he was looking for a larger vehicle to transport his family around. “Right now, we have to take two cars everywhere we go,” said Pehrson. “Now, I’ll be able to get a bigger car so everyone can ride together.  And maybe get a new truck, too.”

 

After taxes, Pehrson took home a check worth slightly more than $47,000.  For their part in selling the winning ticket, Twin Stop will receive a check from the Idaho Lottery for $7,000.

 

Flynn, a Honda car sales representative, knew he was a winner before he even left the Oasis Stop-n-Go where he usually plays. “I saw the 7’s and thought it was a $77 winner and then they just kept coming.  It’s a pretty good pay day,” remarked Flynn when took home his winning check.

 

After taxes, Flynn took home a check for a little over $52,000.  The Oasis Stop-n-Go on Addison will receive a check from the Idaho Lottery for $7,777.

 

Last month, Linda Wilson of Twin Falls won $200,000 on Powerball in early September.  “It has been an exciting month for Magic Valley Lottery players,” said David Workman, Idaho Lottery Spokesperson. “To have as many top prize winners all come from one area is quite remarkable.”
