New Plymouth woman hits second Lottery win, claims $100,000 on World Poker TourTM ScratchTM game

Boise – Once a week Carrie Mulligan stops in the EZ Mart in New Plymouth and buys a few lottery scratch tickets.  She carefully tucks them into her hand bag and will play them over the course of the following week for entertainment.

On one of her recent visits, Mulligan got a little more than she bargained for when she realized she had been carrying around a winning World Poker TourTM ScratchTM ticket from the Idaho Lottery worth $100,000 for several days.

“My dad usually plays World Poker Tour. I hadn’t played it in a while so I bought one.  I scratched it about four or five days after I bought it but had no idea it was a winner until my dad told me,” said Mulligan on learning she’d won the jackpot prize. “The whole family passed the ticket around to check it and make sure it was a winner. Once I realized it really was the big winner I started shaking and felt like I was going to have a heart attack.”

A little over two years ago in August 2006, Mulligan, a medical assistant in OntarioOregon, won $7,777 on Super Lucky 7’s, a ticket she also bought at the same EZ Mart in New Plymouth.

“I do feel very blessed by this,” said a relieved Mulligan. “This couldn’t have come at a better time for us.”

Mulligan, who received $67,200 after state and federal taxes, said she and her husband plan to take care of some family matters with their winnings.  For their part in selling in the winning ticket, the EZ Mart in New Plymouth will earn a bonus commission of $12,000.

Mulligan is the second winner of $100,000 from the Idaho Lottery on World Poker TourTM.  The first, Sherry Lyon of Boise also won her second large prize from the Idaho Lottery on September 3, 2008 when she claimed $100,000 on the same game.  The newest edition of World Poker TourTM currently has two more top prizes of $100,000 available.
