Powerball Jackpot $245 Million, Sales Boosted by Ultimate Fan Pass
Boise – The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday night’s draw is close to a quarter of a billion dollars for the first time since January. The estimated annuitized jackpot for Wednesday night is $245 million. If hit this jackpot would be the 16th largest ever in the world.
The last time Idaho saw a jackpot this size was on January 24, 2007 when the Powerball reached $254 million before being won by a WW II veteran from St. Louis, Missouri. Idaho ticket sales have been brisk and are expected to continue through the week, due in part to a special Boise State Bronco football promotion the Lottery is running currently.
“Our Ultimate Fan Pass promotion has been boosting sales of Powerball with the PowerPlay option,” stated Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director.
Ultimate Fan Pass is the best seat in the house for one lucky Boise State Bronco fan this season. The winner will receive season-long sideline passes for all seven Bronco home games, plus travel to see the team play in Seattle against the Washington Huskies, in Fresno to see the Broncos take on the Bulldogs, and over Thanksgiving to see them play Hawaii in Honolulu.
Players enter by purchasing a $20 PowerPlay ticket, a $10 Powerball with the PowerPlay option for a total of $20. PowerPlay multiplies non-jackpot winning tickets between 2 and 5 times depending on the multiplier selected for that draw.
“The only thing better than winning the Ultimate Fan Pass would be winning the $245 million jackpot,” added Anderson.
About 2,400 Bronco hopefuls have entered the Ultimate Fan Pass contest so far. Players have until August 26 to enter. The winner will be announced on August 27 at a Boise State football press conference.
