SANTA, 0; IDAHO LOTTERY, 1 BOISE COUPLE NABS $100,000 POWERBALL PRIZE!

BOISE – Santa’s got a lot to compete with this year for a Boise couple who received a very special early Christmas surprise. Hollister Cline and his wife claimed a $100,000 prize from the Idaho Lottery Powerball. Hollister matched all five winning numbers except the red Powerball number in the drawing Saturday, December 13, 2003!

Hollister, who says he plays Powerball at least once a week, actually left the winning ticket tucked for days in the visor of his car without checking to see if he held the $100,000 winner. When he finally checked it, he was elated. The Clines say it was perfect timing for Christmas, and with the winnings? They are taking a trip to Colorado and plan to give some of the money to their kids. The winning ticket was purchased at a Jackson’s store in Boise.

The Powerball jackpot is currently at $100 million. The next draw is Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at 8:59pm MST.

Powerball is the multi-state lotto game that offers players nine ways to win. Players select five numbers from 1 to 53 and a Powerball from 1 to 42. The jackpot is won by matching 5 numbers plus the Powerball. Odds of winning a cash prize are 1 in 36. Jackpot odds are 1 in 120 million. Powerball is now played in 23 states and Washington, D.C. Drawings are held each week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8:59pm MST.

Players must be at least 18 to buy, sell or redeem Powerball tickets. Remember to play responsibly. The Idaho Lottery benefiting Idaho public schools and buildings.
