Waiting for a Tow

Karen Frank and her husband from King Hill in Elmore County were experiencing some power steering issues with their new truck one night. While waiting for the tow truck, Karen decided to buy a Powerball ticket from the Jacksons in Mountain Home on Airbase Road.

“I don’t typically play the Lottery or buy tickets, but I felt like I just needed to,” explained Karen. “My husband had a few dollars in his pocket and we were just waiting, so, why not.”

That night, Karen’s ticket matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball number. The PowerPlay number was 5. And since PowerPlay is automatically included in the price of her ticket, her $50,000 prize became a quarter-of-a-million.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes when almost all of the numbers matched,” exclaimed Karen. “Especially since I wear readers.”

“I told her she better grab her glasses and read it again,’ said her husband.

She did. Same results. Same big $250,000 winning ticket sold at Jacksons.

The big win was so sudden, Karen and her husband did not have time to tell the rest of the family. Karen plans to sit them down later at dinner and let them know.

Still basking in the glow of the win, the couple did not know quite yet what they would do with their winnings. For selling the winning ticket, Jacksons receives a $20,000 commission from the Idaho Lottery.
