FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Lottery has formally issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) from responsible, responsive, and experienced vendors to solicit proposals for the printing of secure Scratch Ticket Games.
Earlier this month, during a regularly scheduled meeting, the Idaho Lottery Commission voted unanimously to send the Scratch Ticket Printing RFP out for bid on July 31, 2020.
“Good government practices require the Idaho Lottery to be transparent with respect to the services we contract for,” said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “With a contract of this size and importance, and with the current contracts set to expire, we believe it is important for us to do our due diligence and examine the opportunities this may present.”
Scratch tickets have been offered since the inception of the Lottery in 1989. Currently, the Idaho Lottery Scratch Ticket printing is provided by IGT Printing in Lakeland, Florida, and Pollard Banknote Limited in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
On average, the Idaho Lottery introduces approximately 52 Scratch Games each year. Tickets are sold in-person or through self-service vending machines at over 1,100 retail locations across Idaho.
“It is our responsibility to find the best value for the people of Idaho while maintaining the highest quality standards in our industry,” added Anderson. “As stewards of the Idaho Lottery, taking this large vendor contract out to bid is the responsible decision.”
The current vendor contracts expire in March and May of 2021.
Full, written proposals are to be submitted to the Idaho Lottery RFP Coordinator by Friday, September 18, 2020 at 3:00 PM Mountain Time.
Copies of the complete RFP may be obtained from the Idaho Lottery website at: https://idaholottery.com/pages/rfp/. Interested vendors may also formally request, in writing, a hard copy from the Idaho State Lottery at 1199 Shoreline Lane, Suite 100, Boise, ID 83702. Any questions about the RFP, the technical requirements, or specifications of the RFP should be made in accordance with the rules, guidelines, and provisions of the RFP and done in coordination with the Idaho Lottery’s RFP Coordinator, Joe King, Senior Product Manager.
