Million Dollar Luck Finds Idaho Again! $1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in Eastern Idaho

BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô For the second time in just three months, Idaho has sold another $1,000,000 winning Powerball ticket. The Idaho Lottery has confirmed that one ticket from last night's $154.8 million Powerball draw matched all five "white ball" numbers, but not the Powerball, and the player purchased the PowerPlay multiplier making it worth an automatic $1,000,000. The winning numbers for last night's Powerball draw were: 29, 32, 36, 39, 49 and the Powerball number was 29. The winning ticket was sold in Oneida County near the Idaho-Utah border.

"Three of the last six big Powerball wins in Idaho in the last year have had the PowerPlay multiplier turning what would normally be a $200,000 winning ticket into a million dollar winner," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "We are encouraging everyone who has visited eastern Idaho to check their tickets carefully for winners. Many times we see players who did not match the Powerball number think they did not win. In fact, this ticket matched every other number but the Powerball number and, with the PowerPlay multiplier, it is worth $1,000,000."

PowerPlay is a $1 per play add-on feature that multiplies all non-jackpot winning Powerball tickets from 2 to 5 times, depending on the number selected for that particular draw. Last night's PowerPlay number was 3. In the case of winning tickets that match only all five "white" ball numbers and have the PowerPlay option, since January 2009, these tickets automatically win $1,000,000, regardless of the multiplier selected for the draw.

Last year, a $1,000,000 winning ticket sold in Irwin near the Idaho-Wyoming border expired without being claimed. The winner has 180 days to claim their prize in Boise.

Including the $1,000,000 winning ticket, Idaho had 9,417 winners for last night's draw. There was no jackpot winner, making Saturday's Powerball jackpot worth an estimated $184 million.
